The resurgence of longform blogging, for me

@cheetah-children.bsky.social

This is my test of Whitewind as a blogging platform.

I've used Bluesky for a few months now and enjoy it. I also like the innovation of the backend atproto, and how content is separated from platform. This introduces a new twist on the paradigm, where even the content form is separate as well.

I am a threader; I push microblogging to its limit, chaining posts together, and releasing my thoughts in 300+ character chunks. That process forces brevity and introduces digestibility, but has its limitations (both in mental and digital processing). The idea of having a space to wax on without regard to those limitaitons, to have it all be attached to the same space as the shorter quips of a Bluesky post, is like a dream. Not every thought needs a blog post, not every joke is an essay. But they can all live together, like they do in my brain. They coincide and build upon each other as the sum of my perspective.

So I will embark on seeing how this feels, see what I write, and see how having a space like this contributes to the sum of my thoughts.
