Longform...I may be old

Earlier today I was talking to my significant other about Bluesky and long form posts came up. I miss them, probably because I'm getting old and cranky.

"So what you want is something like Facebook?"

"No, I want something like Livejournal."

Old and cranky.

See, I had an inkling that atproto, the federated protocol driving Bluesky, probably could support longer posts like how activitypub (i.e. what drives Mastodon) does.

Low and behold, I discover Whitewind. I'm going to try posting this and see how it works out. Maybe I can have more than 300 words worth of well-aired drivel now. As a bonus, it supports Markdown.
