It seems like there has been some reluctance to resist Trump's agenda from elected Democrats in the name of bipartisanship, and I want to make it very clear that your voters very much sent you to Washington to resist what Trump is attempting to do. We expect you to use every lever of power available to you to protect us from what is coming. It cannot be business as usual.
You should learn a lesson from Mitch McConnell and do all you can to make Trump a failed President. Scoring a couple points for bipartisanship in the face of Trump's destruction of institutions, and vilification and persecution of our most vulnerable neighbors is not the morally or politically correct response to our current predicament. Do not save Republicans from themselves. Instead, hand them the tools for their own destruction, and let the public know whose fault it is when all their unpopular decisions come home to roost.
I was very disappointed to see your YES vote on the anti-immigrant Laken Riley nationalist garbage that the GOP put forward, and I want you to understand that I expect better in the future. We must stand up for vulnerable members of our society always, but now more than ever. Do not sacrifice immigrants, trans folks, and others to the GOP in the hopes that you will appease them. They will move the goal posts. There is always another group to target, and you will never satisfy their desire for cruelty with compromise. We are stronger together, and sacrificing anyone will fracture our power.
Please, no more unanimous consent; throw the rule book at them every time. Reject his unqualified appointees. Slow the path of destruction to a halt; make them fight for every inch. I know you know how to leverage process to slow them from executing their plans, since you've seen them do it in reverse. Now is not the time for unity, it is the time to fight for the future of the Republic against the unconstitutional occupant of the White House and his enablers in Congress. You're the opposition party, so oppose. Make sure every American knows that inevitable chaos that is to come is the fault of Trump and the GOP. Every American's future depends on it.
