List of atproto AppViews
If I missed one, DM me on Bluesky.
For those who don't know, an AppView is an application that is built on atproto. See the atproto glossary for more information.
Official
AppViews by Bluesky PBC
- Bluesky - The poster child of atproto, developed by the people who made the protocol. A
clone ofspiritual successor to Twitter, being made by many of the same people. - Statusphere - Set an emoji as your status. This is an example AppView, hence the simple functionality.
Community
The real power of atproto lies in what the hobbyists can do with it.
- WhiteWind - the first third-party AppView and the site you're (probably) reading this on. Officially a blogging service, given how it's just Markdown, it has many uses.
- Frontpage - a feed aggregator. In its current state it's a lot like Hacker News, although communities are planned, which will make it more like Reddit.
- Bluecast - a real-time audio streaming service. Apparently it's popular in Japan?
- ⚠️ This service may not support non-Bluesky PDSes
- Bluemotion - video sharing service. It does not seem to store data on the PDS
- Smoke Signal - an event thing. Not sure what type of thing it is.
- Picosky - A "picoblogging" service with a format similar to IRC.
- LinkAT - Linktree clone. Create your link in bio! However, there won't be any pussies in it.
- PinkSea - An oekaki BBS, although I'm not familiar with what that is
- Skylights - A book reviewing thing, a bit like GoodReads (new)
Abandoned/discontinued AppViews
- Soleia.app - a work-in-progress fundraising site. Last activity was back in June 2024 and does not appear to have been updated since. It's not like it worked in the first place.
NSID Collections without AppViews
Just for reference, all of these are community based
- atfile - stores files on your PDS. Uses collection
blue.zio.atfile.*(and one NSIDblue.zio.meta.profileapparently) - ProtoScript - stores JavaScript on your PDS. Uses collection <unknown>
- BlueBadge - Badges for profiles. (Think GItHub badges, not Twitter checkmarks) Uses collection
blue.badge.*
AppView wishlist
Just my personal wishlist
- Q&A service like CuriousCat (because it was tied to your Twitter account)
- atproto video sharing service (that uses the PDS), ala PeerTube
imageboard(would probably turn into a cess pool)
Native Bluesky (and atproto) clients
- Hagoromo (OS, XP, Free)
- Skeets (CS, iOS, Freemium)
- Unisky (OS, UWP, Free)
legend
- OS = Open Source
- XP = Cross-platform
- IAP = Free but has in-app purchases (usually for a "pro" version)
