Putin wants peace the same way a bear wants to negotiate with

Putin wants peace the same way a bear wants to negotiate with a beehive, and watching Jared Kushner say it out loud at a Kyiv forum is the kind of comedy you can’t script. The whole room cracked up, because even the coat racks in Ukraine know the only “compromise” the Kremlin wants is Ukraine handing over Donbas, Crimea, and maybe a couple of washing machines for good measure. But hey, if you’re Trump’s son-in-law, you get to call that “finding common ground.” Meanwhile, back in ruzzia, the only thing running out faster than patience is gasoline and air defense missiles.

Let’s talk Taganrog, where the PVO (air defense) is now officially “out of stock.” Not low, not rationed, just gone. You know you’re winning the air war when your best defense is hoping the drone gets bored and flies home. The regime’s answer? Pretend it’s all fine, maybe blame NATO pigeons, and pray nobody asks why the sky keeps exploding. The only thing more empty than their missile stocks is the gas stations from Saratov to Samara. No fuel, no tractors, no ambulances, just a whole lot of “temporarily unavailable” signs and dudes in tracksuits arguing over who gets the last jerry can. The government’s big solution? Announce they’re “monitoring the situation.” Translation: you’re walking to work, comrade.

This is what “second army of the world” looks like in 2026: can’t protect your own border towns, can’t keep the lights on, can’t even keep the Ladas fueled. The only thing they can still export is excuses and guys fleeing with a backpack. The front line? Still stuck. Russian infantry is trying to “seep through” in tiny groups, like they’re hoping nobody notices if they crawl slow enough. The battle for Kostyantynivka is a rerun at this point, same positions, same meat grinder, just with less gas and more cope. Every week, the maps on Kremlin TV get a fresh coat of red arrows, but the only thing advancing is the number of funerals.

And while the regime is busy losing air defense and gasoline, the propaganda machine is working overtime to sell “peace plans” that sound like ransom notes. The new American plan is basically “Ukraine, just give up the land and the war ends, easy.” That’s not a peace plan, that’s a mugging with extra paperwork. The wild part is, even the vatniks don’t buy it. They’re too busy worrying about how to get to work when the bus runs out of diesel and the cops are busy kidnapping women in border towns because the army’s idea of “morale” is terrorizing their own.

Meanwhile, the US is out here sinking Iranian oil tankers and losing bases in the Gulf, because apparently nobody in Washington planned for “what if the enemy doesn’t collapse in three days.” Gulf allies are ghosting, the Pentagon is improvising, and the only thing more lost than the Russian army is the American exit strategy. But don’t worry, there’s always a new “plan” to end the war, usually involving Ukraine giving up something and Russia pretending it’s a win.

Here’s the real way this ends: Russia runs out of everything that matters - missiles, gas, men, and lies. The regime will keep promising victory until the last conscript is gone and the last Lada is up on blocks. The only “compromise” left is between freezing in the dark or walking to the border. And when it’s all over, the only thing left to negotiate will be who gets the last working toilet.
