Exciting news! You can now add comments to blog posts!! 🎉

📃 Rich Displays of Article Mentions on Bluesky and WhiteWind

As shown in the screenshot above, linking to a blog post on Bluesky will display the link as a comment on the blog post itself.
Responses from other users (threads) will also appear simultaneously.
The same applies if you link to a blog post on WhiteWind; it'll show up in the comments section.

(We'll address the issue of the WhiteWind white logo being hard to see against a white background soon! )

🚀 Simplified Display of Mentions from any atproto Service

Moreover, if you mention an article via Bluesky or any non-WhiteWind atproto service, it will be displayed simply.
The screenshot below shows how it looks when an article is mentioned in a Bluesky profile.

📖 Conditions for Displaying Comments

To be displayed in the comments section, you need to include:

• The article's HTTPS URL (https://whtwnd.com/{handle or DID}/entries/{article title} or https://whtwnd.com/{handle or DID}/{rkey})
• The article's at-uri (at://{DID}/com.whtwnd.blog.entry/{rkey})

Comments will be displayed in the comments section whether they're mentioned in the text, image alt text, or link card on Bluesky posts.
On WhiteWind articles, inserting the link in the text will display it as a comment.
Inserting a link card image will also be recognized as a mention, though it's not the recommended use.

💖 Likes, Reposts, and Comment Counts

The total number of likes and reposts are the combined counts from mentions on Bluesky.
Additionally, the comment count is the total from direct mentions across all atproto services.

💬 Post Comments from WhiteWind

We've added a "POST COMMENT" button at the bottom of articles.

Clicking this button will allow you to post comments to the blog in the form of a Bluesky post.
As mentioned earlier, ensure your post includes the article URL or a link card to appear as a comment.

🔄 Other Updates

We've changed the Bluesky logo button on the left side of the article screen to open the post editing screen on Bluesky when clicked.
