Limansk meltdown, dead general, and a Ukrainian prosecutor doing the Benny Hill

limansk meltdown, dead general, and a ukrainian prosecutor doing the benny hill run—just another day in the worlds weirdest war livestream. if you ever wanted to see an empire cosplay as a superpower while its own cheerleaders have a group panic attack, congrats, youre living it. day 1664, z-bloggers screaming into their telegram void because liman didnt get the memo about being “liberated forever.” ukrainian counterattacks dont care about your victory maps or your “trust me bro” updates. the only thing advancing is the number of russian generals getting their obituaries written by the same bots that called them invincible last week.

liman: from “irrelevant” to meltdown in 24 hours

lets start with liman, because nothing gets the vatniks foaming like losing a town they swore was “strategically irrelevant” right up until it vanished. the official russian line was “steady progress,” which in kremlin-speak means “we’re getting clapped but please dont ask questions.” even the z-channels, those guys who’d call a burning tank a “mobile barbecue victory,” had to admit the “urban advance” was a fantasy. the only thing moving forward was the cope.

you know its bad when the same channels that spent months posting “liman is ours forever” are now arguing about whose fault it is that the forever lasted about as long as a russian conscripts socks. the meltdown is pure chef’s kiss. z-verse split between “we never wanted it anyway,” “its a tactical retreat,” and “wait for the counter-counteroffensive.” the only thing they agree on is that its all the fault of some other unit, or maybe the weather, or maybe nato satellites, or maybe the ghost of bandera. anything but the fact that the russian army is getting outplayed by a country they said would collapse in three days.

the only thing the russian army is second at is losing officers to friendly fire and drone strikes.

dead generals and the ministry of excuses

meanwhile, the russian general kill count keeps ticking up. another one bites the dust, and the only surprise is that theres still any left to promote. at this point, getting a star in the russian army is like winning a lottery where the prize is a one-way ticket to the worlds worst trench. the propaganda machine tries to spin every dead general as a “heroic sacrifice,” but you cant heroic your way out of a himars strike.

the only thing these guys are leading is the race to see who can get their portrait hung in the ministry of excuses the fastest. every time one of them gets vaporized, the z-bloggers go through the five stages of grief in real time: denial, anger, cope, more cope, and finally, “it was a nato general in disguise anyway.” remember when “second army of the world” was a flex? now its just a punchline.

lets not skip the part where russian units are so well-coordinated theyre shooting each other over drones. motostrelki open up on a dugout, airborne guys shoot back, and the only winner is the guy who gets to write the incident report. its like a live-action “whos line is it anyway,” except the points dont matter and everyones armed. z-bloggers try to spin this as “fog of war,” but when your biggest threat is your own side, maybe rethink the whole “professional army” branding.

ukrainian prosecutor does the benny hill

but dont worry, the circus isnt just on the russian side. ukraines got its own drama, starring prosecutor general kravchenko, who decided to drop a midnight video rant about anti-corruption raids and then noped out of the country before breakfast. the guy basically said, “the anti-corruption guys are corrupt, the president blocked my cases, and by the way, im out, peace.” its like watching a season finale where everyones guilty and nobody wants to stick around for the credits.

the z crowd is loving it, because nothing gets them harder than the idea of ukrainian officials being messy. but heres the thing: at least in ukraine, when someone gets caught, they run or get fired. in russia, they get promoted, or at worst, transferred to a new job running the next scam. the only time a russian official flees is when the fsb is already at the door, and even then, half the time its just to their dacha outside moscow.

fuel lines and fairy tales

meanwhile, back in the motherland, the governor of leningrad oblast is on tv begging people to “be patient” about the fuel shortage. his daughters cant get gas, ones stuck in traffic, the other cant even leave the house. you know its bad when the local bigwigs own family is living the crisis. but dont worry, the kremlin says everythings fine, just a minor inconvenience, nothing to see here.

the only thing more reliable than russian fuel shortages is the government pretending its all part of the plan. “were not running out of gas, were just building character.” sure bro, and the lines at the pump are just a new kind of flash mob. every “strategic victory” lasts until the next drone strike, and every “irreversible gain” reverses itself before the ink dries on the telegram post.

war crimes, excuses, and the loyalty program from hell

and while all this is going on, russia’s still holding thousands of ukrainian pows and civilians, racking up war crimes like its a loyalty program. the ombudsman lists hundreds of cases of abuse, but the kremlins too busy filming tiktoks about “liberation” to care. the only thing they liberate is washing machines and the occasional goat. but hey, at least theyre not running out of excuses.

every time a new scandal drops, the z-verse just pivots to “but what about ukraines prosecutor?” as if thats going to magic away the fact that their own side is a dumpster fire on wheels. putins inner circle is feeding him fairy tales, the z-bloggers are eating their own, and the only thing advancing is the price of gasoline in st. petersburg.

  • liman gets lost, again
  • generals keep dying, again
  • kremlin spins, again
  • fuel runs out, again
  • war crimes pile up, again

so yeah, limans a mess, the generals are dropping like flies, and ukraines got its own political soap opera. but if youre looking for a moral, here it is: empires dont collapse with a bang, they collapse with a thousand little farces, each one dumber than the last. and the only thing funnier than watching the regime scramble for a new narrative is knowing theyll be back tomorrow with the same script, just a new set of clowns.

russian victory is always just one more powerpoint map away from reality.
