He actually says it out loud: even in World War II they had the Americans and British at some point, but this time the only guys in the trench with them are North Korean troops. Everyone else is on the other side. That is simply stating a fact. A geopolitical obituary.

Lavrov's golden quotes are not insight. They are the death rattle of a strategic culture that chose nostalgia for empire over modernity, chose lies over reality, and now stands shocked that it has no friends left except the world's most isolated dictatorships. History is not going to be kind to this regime. And interviews like this are exactly why.
