The timeline is brutal in its clarity. On the left, Russian strikes on Ukrainian warehouses and logistics hubs starting from the very first days of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. On the right, the Ukrainian response: the first confirmed strike on a Russian logistics facility, a Wildberries warehouse, lands on 18 July 2026.

The Asymmetry of the Air War

Look closer at the recent pattern. From 31 May this year alone, Russia launched nine documented strikes on Ukrainian civilian logistics in just over a month. That is roughly two per week. The graphic omits the 24 May hit. Not sporadic. It was a deliberate campaign to degrade Ukraine's ability to move goods, spare parts, and humanitarian aid.

Only after that sustained barrage did Ukraine finally hit back at Wildberries hubs that were openly doubling as military logistics nodes, moving fiber-optic cable for drones, thermal sights, and volunteer kit ordered through the app like any other civilian purchase. Epicenter stores, Nova Poshta terminals in Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kyiv, and dozens more. Four and a half years of systematic hammering while the Kremlin pretended these were all "military targets."

The Collapse of the Russian Victim Narrative

The Russian propagandists still whine that Ukraine "started it" and they are merely retaliating. That lie collapses the moment you scroll this chart. Moscow spent years striking Ukrainian soil with impunity, then squeals the second the war begins to touch its own territory. The first Ukrainian strike on Russian logistics came after 1,600 days of one-sided punishment.

Kyiv is not escalating. The bare minimum of reciprocity after endless restraint that achieved nothing except more destroyed Ukrainian warehouses.

Moscow only respects force. It never respected restraint.

The Military Role of Civilian Logistics

The graphic from @WarTranslated makes the asymmetry impossible to deny. Wildberries, Ozon, and the rest were never innocent bystanders. They fed the Russian war machine while their government kept bombing Ukrainian supermarkets and delivery hubs.

Now the illusion of a comfortable rear is burning, and suddenly Russian officials scramble to rewrite contracts and declare drone strikes force majeure so they do not have to compensate their own citizens.

The Predictable Script of Hybrid War

Hybrid war narratives follow a predictable script. The aggressor rewrites history in real time, claims victimhood the instant consequences arrive, and counts on Western audiences to forget the four preceding years of evidence. The timeline does not forget.

Every Russian talking head pushing the "Ukraine struck first" line is banking on your ignorance of basic chronology. Do not grant them that luxury. The record is public, the sequence is merciless, and the conclusion is obvious. Ukraine is finally applying the lesson on the only frequency the Kremlin understands.
