Ukraine cannot afford European politicians who treat the war as a distant inconvenience to be negotiated away the moment domestic polls tighten. It sits on shelves in politicians' offices and waits for the next election cycle to do its damage. Ukraine's job remains the same: survive, strike back with drones and sanctions pressure, and force the West to confront the fact that tolerating this fifth column is not neutrality.
